Beaver Trapping
Beavers were reintroduced to Connecticut in the mid-20th century. Beaver activity is becoming a problem across Connecticut and contributes to flooding in Bethel. Most of the beaver dams around Bethel are located on private property. Connecticut's Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) regulates beavers in this state. December 1 through March 31 is the beaver trapping season when a permit is not required, so we encourage property owners to take action during that time.
