2/23/2017 - ***UPDATED*** Bethel Police Investigate Robbery

Image may contain: 1 personOn February 22, 2017 at approximately 2130 hours Officers of the Bethel Police Department responded to the scene of a reported strong arm robbery. The pictured subject lunged over the counter, forced the employee away and stole several hundred dollars from the drawer. The suspect appears to be a white male with a blue PETRO Oil sweatshirt, black winter hat and boots. The suspect's left arm appeared to be recently injured and was wrapped in an ace bandage. During the course of the investigation, Bethel Police Detectives were able to identify Maxwell N. Mulligan (age: 32) of 128 Whisconier Road in Brookfield as the suspect in the video surveillance footage. Bethel Police Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Mulligan on February 24, 2017. Mulligan was located by the Wilton Police Department in the late afternoon of February 24th and was taken into custody on the Bethel arrest warrant. Mulligan is being charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Larceny 5th Degree. Mulligan is being held on a $20,000 bond and will be arraigned on February 27, 2017 in Danbury Superior Court. The investigation is still active at this time.
