How do I obtain fingerprints?
The Bethel Police Department provides fingerprinting services for Town of Bethel residents, out of town residents applying for employment within Bethel, and for Bethel Board of Education applications only. This service is provided on Tuesdays from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Fingerprint cards should be obtained from your employer.
We currently require an appointment.
The fee is $10.00 per card for Bethel residents and $20 per card for non-residents. There is no charge for Bethel Board of Education fingerprints. Visit our full fingerprinting page. Please pay special attention to the new state requirements.
How do I obtain a CT Pistol Permit Application?
Pistol Permit Fingerprints
Pistol permit applicants are required by the State of Connecticut to Pre-Entroll for fingerprints. Applicants will receive an email with fingerprinting instructions once their pistol permit application has been accepted.
Once pre-enrollment is complete, each applicant will receive an Applicant Tracking Number form. This form MUST be printed and is REQUIRED to make a pistol permit fingerprinting appointment. Pistol permit fingerprints are done by appointment on Tuesdays from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
Fingerprints CANNOT be submitted to the state without the Applicant Tracking Number. Appointments can be made by contacting 203-744-7900 ext. 107.
The CT Criminal History Request System is the website for Pistol Permit Pre-Enrollment. A service code will be provided to each applicant.

How do I have a Child Safety Seat installed?
The Department is staffed with several officers who are trained in the installation of Child Safety Seats. Installations/inspections are done by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling 203-744-7900 ext. 693 and leaving a voicemail message (this is a voicemail only phone line and it is only checked periodically). A technician will then contact you to schedule an appointment. This service is free, however, donations are greatly appreciated and they are strictly used for child safety events, training, and related equipment.
