FEMA Assistance Announced

Residents and business owners who sustained losses in Bethel from the August 18 flooding can begin applying for FEMA assistance at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), or by using the FEMA app. Anyone using a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, can give FEMA the number for that service. Additional information will be updated on the Town of Bethel Google Drive.

The SBA has opened Business Recovery Centers at the Monroe Police Department (7 Fan Hill Road) and Oxford Town Hall (486 Oxford Road) to assist business owners in completing their disaster loan applications, accept documents, and provide updates on an application’s status. Both locations are open Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted, however appointments are encouraged at https://appointment.sba.gov/.

CT DEMHS & FEMA are working to open similar in-person centers that will provide assistance to homeowners seeking to apply for federal disaster aid. An additional announcement will be made once those locations and hours of operation are identified.
