Fee Schedule

The Bethel Transfer Station will resume the normal fee schedule and hours of operation starting on 5 / 28 / 2020.

 

Requirements

All Bethel Transfer Station customers are required to wear a mask or other cloth material that covers his or her mouth and nose at all times while within the confines of the Bethel Transfer Station. A “mask type” face covering MUST be validated to the Scale House attendant prior to entrance. Social distancing recommendations (maintain approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others shall be applied while at the Bethel Transfer Station.

Household waste “scale” customers will be required to deposit items on the scale for weighing, remove items and place them into trailer. Please keep your household waste items at a weight that you can handle. Transfer Station attendant will be present at the scale. Only residents with a current Town of Bethel Transfer Station permit will be allowed to use the Transfer Station.

Please Note: No construction debris is accepted at the Bethel Transfer Station. All household remodeling debris must be taken to the Danbury Transfer Station on White Street.


The Transfer Station Permits currently held with an expiration date of July 1, 2020 will be valid and not renewed until January 1, 2021. To obtain the annual permit, please stop by the Town Clerk's office located on the first floor of the Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center. Please fill out the permit and e-mail or regular mail to the Town Clerk’s Office. A permit will be mailed to you. The Transfer Station is open only to Bethel Residents with a valid permit to use this facility.

Garbage & Recyclables

Taxpayers with an annual permit may deliver residential garbage and recyclables directly to the Transfer Station. Please see the Transfer Station Fees Schedule for other types of acceptable waste and fees for their disposal. The Transfer Station does accept brush and tree limbs - There is a fee for this service.

Acceptable donations with containers for the following items ONLY:

  • Clothes
  • Shoes
  • Small Toys
